Brock Sticking With WWE?

The biggest event in Sports Entertainment is taking place this Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco; Wrestlemania 31. All of us apart of Solly And Steve on Sports are big WWE fans. A few of us actually went to Wrestlemania 29 that was held in MetLife Stadium (we witnessed the last time Undertaker kept his losing streak at Mania at 0, and CM Punk’s last Mania match.) The star power for Wretlemania 29 was unreal with superstars such as The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels all performing at the event of the year. Oh yes I did forget one superstar…BROCK LESNAR!!

As many WWE and UFC fans know Brock Lesnar has been speculating a possible return to the octagon after his contract expires after Wrestlemania 31, which he is defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event. Fans were curious if Lesnar would jump ship again and fight in the octagon or if he would stay with the WWE. Well fans you got your answer.

Earlier this week, Lesnar went on SportsCenter and had an interview with Michelle Beadle (also an avid WWE fan) to make a “huge announcement.” Beadle had no idea what Lesnar was going to say or announce. I watched the interview live and I had no idea what Lesnar was going to say. Was he going to retire? Was he going back to UFC? Was he just there to promote Wrestlemania 31? Well we got our answer.

Lesnar announced that he had signed a new contract with the WWE the night after Monday Night Raw was complete. Lesnar also ruled out a return to the UFC; meaning Lesnar retired from fighting in the octagon. Lesnar said in the interview that it took him a year to figure out what decision he should make. He also stated that physically he could fight in the UFC, but mentally he was not ready. Furthermore Lesnar signed a multi-year contract to stay with the WWE.

As a big WWE fan I am really happy to see Lesnar officially stay with the WWE. I was there along with my brothers to see Lesnar defeat The Rock at Summerslam in 2002 to become the youngest champion in history.

Will Lesnar defeat Reigns to keep the title at Wrestlemania 31? How will the UFC respond to Lesnar retiring from the UFC? Will Lesnar and The Rock have their rematch at next years Mania?
